Tischmatten

Swiss-German artist Dieter Roth died in 1998. In October the Hauser and Wirth gallery in New York mounted a show to mark the 80th anniversary of his birth. It was called Dieter Roth, Björn Roth: Work Tables and Tischmatten, and consisted of the furniture upon which father and son made their art and the cardboard "table mats" left behind by those efforts, now salvaged as apparently sufficiently marketable works of art in their own right.
